Alerts

Alert rules watch incoming readings and notify you the moment a value crosses a threshold — soil too dry, water too warm, battery too low. Rules live on the Alerts page in your dashboard.

Creating a rule

Click Add Rule on the Alerts page. A rule has these parts:

SettingMeaning
Assign to projectWhich project's incoming readings this rule watches.
Monitored fieldFree text — any field your devices send (temp, moisture, your own names). Suggestions appear from fields already in use.
Trigger conditionAbove, Below, or Equals the threshold value.
Threshold valueThe number the reading is compared against.
Notification channelsIn-app banner feed, email warnings, or both.
CooldownQuiet period after a trigger: 15 or 30 minutes, 1, 6, or 24 hours.

Why cooldowns matter

A sensor hovering around its threshold can cross it on every reading. The cooldown makes sure one incident produces one notification, not one per report interval.

Where notifications appear

  • The bell icon in the dashboard top bar shows a dot when you have unread notifications.
  • The Recent Notifications feed on the Alerts page is the full history — filter it and mark all read there.
  • If the email channel is enabled on a rule, the warning also goes to your account email.
  • An Alert Feed widget on a dashboard canvas shows triggered alerts inside the project view.
